Sunday Snippets Feb 10th 2019

stellahibernisUnsurprisingly this week with four sick days ended up being less than productive. I'm a bit better today but will have to see if I can go to work tomorrow. I might end up working from home, luckily I have a job that gives me the flexibility. Anyway, not very productive writing week, but considering the time I had for it not too bad.
All the work is still going to the pre-IW fic, I'm halfway through chapter five now, and the funniest thing about it is how uneven the chapter lengths have been after a steady start. Ch 1 is 3.7k, ch 2 about the same, a bit shorter, ch 3 is 4.7k and ch 4 is 6.4k. Ch 5 looks to be on the shorter end of scale again. I did consider moving the last section of ch 4 to the beginning of ch 5, it probably would work like that. I'll decide it when I'm editing. By chapter count I'm past halfway, by length I'm hoping the same, although there are a couple of long scenes to come yet.
I also had an amusing thought about Steve, which I'll probably write into a meta post once my brain isn't quite this stuffed. It was inspired by another of my pet peeves, aka the one that manifests with me wanting to yell at the screen, "He's not actually your grandpa." It got me to try and contextualize his age, and like I said, led to a funny thought. More about it hopefully within a couple of days, depending on whether this cold lets go of me.
