This was written pre-CATWS, and is a great mix of movie and comics canon, with Bucky and Steve catching criminals and trying to sort out their feelings. You should also read the second fic in the series, The Times That Try Men’s Souls (or Five Ways Bucky Likes Sex and One He Wants To), where they get a bit further along the way with that.

Happily finished on time once more! It was very satisfying to play in a steampunk verse, especially since I'd been considering it for a while now. I'll get back closer to canon with the next ones, as is typical for me, I think out of my fifty fics on AO3 only four are full AUs.
